Just a few more tidbits of information.
- Any voice plan you take, your first month is free.
- If you are outside of your home zone, you are roaming on rogers and extra fees are incurred. This is unfortunate but understandable as Wind is new. Once they have their network fully built this will no longer be the case.
- Overages (on Wind’s Network) - 10c a minute for local calls, 15c a minute for Canadian & American long distance. 10c per 25kb for data charges when not in your home zone. Texting Internationally is 15c per message, picture messaging to Canada or the U.S. is 20c per message and International picture messages are $1 per message.
- Overages (roaming)
Local Calls are 25c a minute, Long Distance is 25c a minute, Text Messages 15c a minute, picture messaging & data is 10c per 25kb message.
WIND will be expanding to Ottawa, Vancouver and Edmonton.
There will not be any Voicemail Passwords (I think this will be a problem for a lot of people. This should definitely be OPTIONAL). Call 777 to listen to your Voicemail and it does not use your minutes.
If any of you have any question feel free to let me know or go visit a WIND store. Support a carrier that is willing to change things.
Feel free to join our forums for more discussions. Let us know your experience with WIND. Thanks again to the anonymous tipster.

The My Country is the most appealing to me right now!! I can’t take my eyes off of it, they need to add some more countries and I’ll definitely get a phone from them!!!

Not eating up your minutes when checking your voicemail is big! And you’re right, it should be an optional feature whether or not you will be required to enter your password to check voicemail.

I’ve heard rumours about the phones being locked to WIND and no unlock codes to be had
if thats the case, then isn’t that similar to being locked in?

Their phones are locked to their network. For the time being they aren’t allowing unlocked phones. I don’t see it as being locked in as you can still leave at anytime. I think Wind has a motto as to why they don’t have contracts. Goes something along the lines we want you to stay because you like us not because your locked in. I really like it.

Anyone know how fast the Wind network is? I was at their launch event in Toronto, so I got a few Wind toques and coffee-cup sleeves, but very few firm answers from their staff. They were mad friendly, but they couldn’t tell me how fast their network is…
