Huh? Any phone that works on wind will also work on robbers… just at a lower speed. How is that limiting? It means that your phone will basically be compatible with *EVERY* gsm network *in the world*, with the exception of bell/telus.

It’s nice how there’s other companies coming in as competition. However, I see that Wind uses UMTS 1700…which still make phones slightly limited.

I guess for those who care about phones, better think twice before looking into wind. For those who only care about plans, it’s a fantastic news!

I know, I even had a whole game plan mapped out to have someone take over my contract while still keeping my phone number.

Just had a near breaking-point yesterday…better today with news that some MPs are siding with Globalive (Marc Garneau).

It’s kinda funny because just over a year ago, I purchased a phone from HK then went to sign a three-year with Rogers…so stupid of me.

I dont see them launching December 1st.. they need to do some MASSIVE RE ORGANIZIG.. FINANCIAL POSITIONS.. FUNDS.. then once this is all done.. another CRTC review has to be performed.. I dont see them coming around until Q2

Whether Winds ends up launching or not (and I’ve come to trust Riley’s intel!) I really think it’s an awful time to even consider locking in for 3 years right now.

New options are coming, and I really think this whole Wind debacle with the CRTC/Industry Canada is going to lead to changes in the wireless industry that may finally see consumers get some real choice from the big internationals.

Habib Q – YOu know the N900 only works on AWS 3G(tmobile in the USA and currently no network in Canada. This will not work on telus or bell’s new 3G and will only work on roger’s 2G network.
