Bell Blackberry Bold 9000 Price Drop

In response to Rogers’ “Ultimate Web Phones Under $100″ Bell has reduced the price of their Blackberry Bold 9000 to $99.95.
There was a lot of confusion when Bell launched their new HSPA+ network with the Bold 9000 priced at $249.95 and the Bold 2 9700 at $229.95.
New customers will receive the $99.95 price point when they sign a 36 month contract. Existing customers will be eligible to buy the Bold 9000 at $99.95 when the hardware upgrade credit on their account accumulates to $200 and they have an eligible data plan on their account. All accounts are eligible for this pricing, so it doesn’t matter if you’re on a consumer or corporate plan.
Unfortunately when Bell decreases the price of a phone on contract they leave the non-contract price of the phone the same. In this case Bell offers the Bold 9000 and the Bold 2 9700 both at a $599.95 price point for buying without a contract, so if you’re in this market you might as well buy the Bold 2 9700.
